Georgia Highlands College students inducted into Alpha Psi Omega international honor
society

On Nov. 7, 2002, 47 students from Georgia Highlands College campuses
were inducted into the Alpha Psi Omicron chapter of the international
honor society Phi Theta Kappa.
Requirements for induction are a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.5 and
12 credit hours.
Dr. Randy Pierce, Georgia Highlands College president, gave the address.
Advisers to Phi Theta Kappa, Laura Musselwhite, professor of history,
and Frank Minor, assistant professor of English, assisted with announcing
inductees and handing out certificates.
When the name of the individual was called, he or she wrote his or her
name in a ledger, lit a candle and received his or her certificate.
After the completion of the induction ceremony officers were chosen and
are as follows: Nikki Wells, president; Kelly Johnson, vice president;
Tammy Barton, secretary; and Charleston Deveaux, treasurer.
Other members include Michelle Beattie, Andrew Blawat, Ashley Campbell,
Shannon Cannon, Mary-Jane Carter, Tracy Clay, Vickie Cole, John Cooper,
Kelli Crider, Valerie Duff, Tara Durham, Emily Edmonds, Abby Embree, Debra
Evans, Elizabeth Frias, James Garrett, Amy Gilliland, Alison Green, Leigh
Ann Hyde, Jessica Ingram, Linda Inman, Elizabeth Lorenson, Tina Loyd,
Kristina Maddox, Jennifer Manning, Kristie McCravy, Robbie Ornay, Meagan
Penn, Denise Philipp, Dustin Poole, Shelly Raley, Angela D. Reynolds,
Donna Sapp, Serpentfoot, Krishna Sisson, Mary Ellen Stapleton, Ashlea
Stubblefield, Vicky Sutton, Shamina Tate, Kathryn Teat, Natasha Star Womack,
Tiffany Capri World and Amanda Yarbrough.
The first spring semester meeting of the Alpha Psi Omicron chapter will
occur Monday, Feb. 3, at 4 p.m. in the Solarium.
