Would you like Veruca Salt with that?

'Ladder 49' Bond Forged By Fire

Would you go into a burning building that is exploding with terrorizing flames? Probably not, unless you are one of the brave men in the movie "Ladder 49."

From the first few seconds of watching the preview, you know it's going to be a classic. If there could only be one word to sum up this movie it would be realistic. But there would also be many others such as awesome, accurate, powerful, sweet, funny, awe-inspiring and breathtaking.

You truly get sucked in to the life of a firefighter when you watch this powerful movie.

The entire movie is made up of flashbacks starting with a very intense first scene of the movie.

In this scene Joaquin Phoenix gets stuck in a huge blazing building with an injury, and he starts to reminisce about his life beginning with his first day at the firehouse.

Phoenix plays a 'rookie' fireman who gets many tricks played on him at first, but ends up being one of the best men they have in the company.

There also seems to be a special, almost father-son bond between Phoenix and John Travolta who plays the captain.

Not since "Backdraft" has there been a movie about firefighters this good. This is a well deserved firefighter story that is way overdue. This movie is GREAT.

Basically, you can't go wrong with "Ladder 49." A great part of it is that it's not just a guy movie.

Yeah, it's got lots of fire, explosions, and masculine tough guy stuff, but there is a lot of emotion in this film for the ladies too.

In my opinion, you should definitely go see this movie, and let's all give it up for firefighters everywhere!
