The School of Social Sciences and Education will host its inaugural 2024 Mini Conference on October 25 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Cartersville campus in room A160. This event aims to introduce students to diverse career opportunities in fields such as history, criminal justice, political science, education, sociology and psychology.
Attendees can expect a continental breakfast and breakout sessions led by professionals from various disciplines. Each session will provide students with a chance to network and ask questions about career paths and educational opportunities.
Lindsay Lane, a speaker from the Human Trafficking Institute, will deliver the keynote address, highlighting the impact of social sciences in today’s rapidly changing world.
Participants will also have the opportunity to attend smaller sessions focused on specific fields, allowing for more personalized interactions with industry professionals.
Jennifer Carpenter, Ed.D., Division Chair of the School of Social Sciences and Education, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “The goal is to help students clarify their career paths and explore new interests within social sciences.”
