With Covid-19 precautions proving it difficult to plan events, many have cancelled or downsized Halloween events in order to stay safe. However, GHC’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa invites students to Halloween movie night on the Floyd campus on October 31 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Planned activities include pumpkin decorating, a costume contest and a car design contest. There will also be a spooky prize-walk, which is a cake walk without the baked goods. As a safety precaution, activities will follow social distancing guidelines and trick-or-treat candy will be prepackaged and quarantined.

PTK president, Carly Hays, said, “We don’t really have a sense of community right now.”

Dariela Guadalupe Delgado Castro, Vice-President of membership for PTK and the head of the Halloween project says, “This is a great way and a perfect time for the campus and community to come together after a few stressful months.”

Both Hays and Delgado ask students to check out more details at @PTKGHC on Facebook and Instagram. Together, they hope to hold a fun Halloween festival and much-needed face-to-face event.
